Out for a Walk

It was warm and sunny Friday so Mabel and I headed out for a walk around the neighborhood. I am glad we did because this week it has been FREEZING. Mabel was happy as a clam eating puffs and checking out the scenery.

One year ago...

One year ago Nate and I started a 12 week birth class where we prepared to become parents and made some awesome friends along the way.

Our First Official Reunion

I also wanted to make a note that several of us would meet each Wednesday at a new parents support group called Mommy and Me, from 10am-Noon at LDS Hospital. I looked forward to those Wednesdays so much! They helped me through some really rough weeks.
(I'm sad that I never brought my camera.)

I am so thankful for this group of people!
For the support, the advice, the laughs (oh the laughs!),
and the opportunity to watch these cute kids grow up.

Ringing in 2012!

Nate and I met 12 years ago on New Year's Eve and we celebrated this anniversary with a much needed couple's massage! Grandma Sherrill and Grandpa Kraig were in town and they offered to watch Mabel. So off we went, BOTH of us in the front seats (first time in months) with an empty car seat in the back which felt really odd.

Nate's parents come over and we ordered Zupa's to go since we couldn't pry the guys away from the game and Mabel was due for a nap.

grandparent sandwich

playing endless rounds of bananagram

later we shared santa monica calzones and yogurtland

Around 9pm the Tews had to leave to go to a young single adult activity (Rick is the Bishop), and the rest of us settled down on the couch to see what was happening in Times Square. Well, that was a bad idea because the couch made us all really sleeeeepy. I went to bed around 10:30pm and at midnight Nate came in to give me a kiss. They told me that Dick Clark is still counting down the new year...he must be tired.

For our first meal of 2012 my mom made us Aebleskivers!

They are a traditional Danish pancake and even though
we aren't Danish we still enjoyed these little gems.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
