Valentine's Day

My sweet husband got me a beautiful orchid and took me to see Sarah Mclachlan at Kingsbury Hall. It was a great date night, I love you Nate!

I kicked myself for not bringing my new camera to the concert. No really, I used my right foot to kick my left leg in the shin. I know that I totally could have gotten these shots! :)

She sounded great live.

Christmas

We started the season with a wonderful Christmas celebration with the Tew family including all the annual festivities:

Picture Matching Game
Nate and I were in charge of it this year and we found some great old family pictures to include - I thought it turned out cute.

BINGO!

Rick and Georgia give out all sorts of household necessities as the Bingo prizes.

White Elephant Gift Exchange

Dave loved getting our "Handerpants"

And Jenna was very pleased with getting our 40 pound cement pig.

We got an awesome pair of monster feet (complete with crazy stomping sounds) and a little pig whose eyes bulge out when you squeeze it, it's hilarious!

Nate and Kristy serenaded us...

C-O-L-O-R-A-D-O
Then we flew out to Denver to spend Christmas with the Naylor clan:

Kraig (and Kobe) had a great time working on puzzles...

We frosted lots of tasty sugar cookies...

Jacob's "Seal" won for most creative...

Mumsie made lots of delicious meals for us...

and we played games for hours...

our new favorite: BANANAGRAM!
Sort of a fast paced variation of Scrabble.
(Kraig let me win a few times)

We went to Denver Art Museum one day to check out the King Tut Exhibit.

It was pretty cool!

Just chillin' with the abnormally large cow sculpture outside the museum...

Hanging out at the 16th street mall:

My mom got some last minute shopping done:

Then we pigged out at Maggiano's!
Nate and I had never been - it was really good.
(all you can eat creme brulee = count me in!)

On Christmas eve we read about Christ and shared our thoughts...

and opened matching pajamas:

Christmas morning brought lots of treasures and we felt very spoiled.
Here is the afterbirth:

Check out some of the pictures I took with MY NEW CAMERA!!
(anyone know if any good SLR classes for beginners in Salt Lake?)

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Thanksgiving

The Naylors came to Utah for Thanksgiving this year...

Jacob (almost 16 in this picture) has grown into a large man child...
he is starting to pass Nate up at 6'3"!
We had to take a picture with the "shrimp" of the family too - we love you Kelsey!

Started some Christmas crafts...

My mom made a lovely breakfast omelet roll...

A few days later we celebrated Nate's birthday and another
Thanksgiving with the Tews:

29 years young!

(and I realized that between the two Thanksgiving feasts we attended I didn't get any pictures of all the food...too busy eating I guess!)

From A to Z...almost

Project Alphabet is almost complete!
Still in need of an F, I, O, P, R, V, and Y.

They are all sort of cramped on the living room shelves right now...I envision them covering a wall in a kids room someday but right now we just don't have the space. Our second bedroom is part baby room, part office, part storage, and part junk land.

PS: With all the rearranging/organizing we have been doing Nate finally got the chance to hang up two of his guitars. (if he reads this: yes, I know, one is actually a bass) He is a happy camper! And I am too - now that they are more accessible he has been serenading me more often. Husband singing and playing the guitar = happy momma and baby.
