A much needed pool day

Rebecca, Addison, and I spent a lovely afternoon at the Draper Pool yesterday. It was so nice to talk and get caught up on each others lives while floating in the cool shallow water- It was a beautiful summer day! We were even brave enough to jump off the diving board...check it out:

As we were getting things packed into the car to go home Addison was sitting in her stroller with her chubby little finger in her pacifier and it was so funny to me! She has two bottom teeth and has two on the top that are just poking through so she loves to gnaw on things.

Bianca

Today my sweet sister Bianca went to be with her brother Bernard in cat heaven.
Bianca was born in Francis, Utah approximately 12 or so years ago. Bianca was always a shy girl but loved that quiet moment when she felt safe enough to jump on your lap and have her head scratched. She and Bernard loved to chase birds and mice and in her later years Bianca became quite fond of laying for hours in the warm sun on the porch. Bianca has never been able to meow--instead it's a strange squeaking clicking sound that always gave us a laugh.
Bianca is survived by her mother: Sherrill Naylor, father: Kraig Naylor, grandparents: Keith and Karmen Naylor, and siblings: Jessica Tew, Kelsey Naylor, and Jacob Naylor. She will also be missed by her younger sister Zoe who wanted nothing more than to be her best friend and playmate despite their differences.
Bianca, you were a great pet cat even with all your strange little ways! I miss your squeaky meow already. God be with you till we meet again~

Timpanogos' Dark Knight

My mom was so excited for all of us to hike to the Mt. Timpanogos caves on Friday. We spaced the fact that this was a holiday weekend in Utah and when we got there it was packed. The next tour wasn't for two hours! By then it was going to be way too hot and we wouldn't have time for the three hour hike and tour. So we decided to check out the bat cave instead and headed to the theatre to see the new batman movie.
Now, for those of you that know me I am very particular about my movies. I listened to a whole segment about the new Batman movie on NPR and so I was looking forward seeing what it was all about. Overall I thought it was very well made---but being the sensitive soul that I am it was just a little too dark and too violent for me. Heath did a great job as the joker but I think I might have nightmares. Too psychologically spooky.

Good Old Kamas

Going back to my old stomping grounds always has a calming effect on me. I really do like getting out of the city and seeing the lovely little valley with all it's familar faces. Here we are at the parade. Gotta love that salt water taffy!

It's a Family Affair

My family is in town for a week and they came over last night for Sunday dinner. It was great to just hang out and talk. My little brother and sister are so grown up! I was laughing at Jacob's shirt all night.

YELLOWSTONE!!

Horse Play

Nate had never been horseback riding so we decided it was about time. We went 40 minutes North of West Yellowstone (wait, did that make sense?) to Big Sky, Montana. Jake's horse ranch was everything I had hoped for. We looked like total city folk (even though we tried to fake it with some plaid shirts) but they made us feel right at home. I had been dreaming the whole trip of my horse being named Clover, or Cinnamon, maybe Ginger Snap--c'mon, the 6 year old "My Little Pony" horse lover came out in me. That's when they put me on Ted. What kind of horse name is that? Ed is one thing, Ted is another. But we gave each other a chance and to my surprise we were a match made in heaven! We went on a two hour ride through beautiful back country, crossed several small rivers, and even went along a steep ravine--I saw my life flash before me a few times but Nate was a total natural! I see horse rides into the sunset in our future.

Into the Wild

We saw a lot of Yellowstone creatures....buffalo, elk, moose, bald eagle, wolf, yellow bellied marmot (I'm serious!), and my favorite----chipmunks!! One day Dave and Nate were exploring a waterfall and the rest of us were just sitting on this little ridge right off the road. Before we knew it a family of darling chipmunks scurried right up to us! One little guy just couldn't resist my sunflower seeds and came right up on my lap---a tear came into my eye and I felt my Yellowstone dreams coming true! All I kept thinking was, "You are so cute----please don't bite me!" It filled its little cheeks to the brim with seeds and then scurried off....but believe me when I say we had a moment. It made me think of my childhood pet rat. Rest in Peace Snowball.
