red, white, blue, and a tutu

july 4, 2014
We woke up and headed to our Stake's 4th of July breakfast,
it was only 8:30am and already a scorcher!
No pictures but there were fun kid booths that Mabel loved.
She insisted on wearing her tutu!
After naps we headed to Classic Fun Center in Sandy!
We bought a season pass because the little kid's pool is perfect.
(and the pass is only $15!)
I can be in the shade with Elliott and still super close to Mabel
while she swims. We try to meet a friend and her kids there
every Thursday afternoon. Mabel is still a little nervous in the water when there
are a lot of kids swimming around her so this little pool for kids
7 and under is just right for her.

Hanging in the shade with my little man.

With daddy's encouragement she even tried out the slide!
She ended up loving it and went down a million times.

After swimming we were starving, Elliott was sleeping, and we
had a $15 gift card (a promo that gave when we bought our season pass)
so we got a nutritious dinner at Classic's little food court.

A few sparklers and fireworks with our
neighbors..even thought it was still light out the
kids had fun.

Elliott slept through the fireworks - yay!

{brunch}

Last Saturday we met Nate's grandparents for brunch at Ihop in Centerville.  They live in Syracuse and we live in West Jordan so we meet in the middle. We don't see them as often as we would like but we sure love these two.  Elliott cooed and grinned at both of them...I bribed him with breastmilk to be on his best behavior. ;)

Jack & Elliott

...Jack David Sauter...

Nate's sister Kristy and her husband Dave adopted a little boy who is only a month older than Elliott! We are so excited for the adventures these little boy cousins will have together. Jack had a rough beginning spending several weeks in the NICU but he is healthy and happy now!  We are so thrilled for Kristy and Dave to have this sweet little boy in their lives...they have waited a long time for this and watching them with Jack makes me so happy!

BACKING UP A BIT:
Jack Nathan....soon to be Jack David. :)
Visiting Jack at the NICU - Kristy and Dave were so brave and strong
and I really believe that little Jack improved so much so quickly because
of the power their optimism and love brought into his room each day.
It's so hard to see such a little body going through so much.  He had an
infection that they couldn't figure out, tubes in his lungs that had to be
replaced mulitiple times, seizures....it was bad.

This picture makes me cry every time.
This was the first time Kristy got to hold her baby.
After days and days of waiting he was finally stable enough
to snuggle!

HE'S HOME!!!!

Mabel practicing her big sister skills:

Kristy and Dave bought a great house in Taylorsville....and
it's only about 5 minutes away from us - yay!!
Every time we come over we try to snap a picture
of the boys together:

Back in April before Jack was born we had a baby shower for
Kristy at Rick and Georgia's house in Kaysville.  Kristy has planned
showers for each of us and it was so fun to be planning one for her!
She is such a great mama!

I found these invites at Target and couldn't resist!

Jenna, Lindsey, Kristy, Preggo Me
(Becky and Georgia were there in spirit!)

When Elliott was two weeks old we went over to Kristy and Dave's
to celebrate Bryan's 40th birthday:

Not a bad view from the patio!!

Socks on his hands...I forgot his mittens.

Cousin Sam holding baby Jack:

Lindsey's cute little Reagan:

Myah and Mabel loved "cleaning" the pond:

I had to snap a shot of the music nook - love it!

 HAPPY 40th to BRYAN!!
