Rubio's

On Tuesdays Nate and I are both in school from 9am until 5pm. Then we have an hour break to eat dinner together before Nate has another class from 6pm-9pm. Good times. Anyway, trying to bring lunch and dinner to school is a nightmare (my backpack already feels like I am carrying around a baby walrus) and the cafeteria at the U is pretty much closed by 5pm (which I think is ridiculous) so Tuesdays have become our out to dinner reward night for such a long day in class. Luckily 400 South, which is only a few blocks from campus, has a pretty decent selection of places to eat.

Rumbi
became "our spot" (their Aloha salad with tofu is awesome!) and then one day the parking spots in front of Rumbi were all taken so I parked in front of Rubio's which is right next door. We both saw the sign at the same time: "1/2 Price Fish Tacos Every Tuesday!" We thought we would give it a try and have been going every Tuesday for the past three weeks! A lime wedge is included with each taco and the sauce that they put on is finger lickin' good! For those of you who like fish tacos this is an awesome deal - $1.25 for a fish taco (you get the option of corn or flour tortillas - we like corn - and we ask for lettuce instead of cabbage) and 50 cents for chips ---I happily said goodbye to spending $17 at Rumbi! Yes, we live in Utah so of course there is no comparing these fish tacos to Wahoos, and their salsa bar is no El Chubasco, but for $1.25 I'm not complaining too much.

Don't Judge Too Quickly

In one of my classes last week we had a guest presenter who works for the Division of Child and Family Services. She is a CPS worker (Child Protective Services) and she shared several fascinating yet heartbreaking stories about her experiences at DCFS. She was very professional yet approachable, and seemed to be an awesome social worker. (I was inspired) At the end of her presentation she showed us a few videos that did a hilarious job of illustrating the fact that you can't always judge a situation on how it appears. In most of my classes we are constantly deconstructing our assumptions, biases, and any other prejudices that could effect the way we impact a client. I thought these videos were clever!

America's Best Dance Crew

I'm totally into this show.
Here's who I think should win:
Has anybody else watched any episodes? I think there have been several seasons--I randomly stumbled upon it after my brain exploded one night from too much homework so I decided to veg-out in front of the TV. After each show I have the urge to bust a serious move.

Kittens, Inspired by Kittens

Saw this on Hilary's blog and just couldn't get enough. I think I've watched it a dozen times. I think the screams are my favorite.
