Happenings...

I have been so consumed with work, church, and baby planning that blogging has been put on the back burner! However, I have been writing in my journal and belly book quite a bit so that counts for something right? My mom and I are still trying to figure out the best way to print our blogs (we have checked out a bunch of sites), but has anyone actually done it? Let me know...

So, life is really exciting for us right now! We are in major baby mode - we have been cleaning the house and rearranging trying to make room for another person. So far we have a little dresser/changing table (still need to get the pad) and a few drawers are already filled with goodies from family and friends. Little miss Tew is already so loved!

In the midst of baby arranging we also decided to FINALLY organize our office since I will be working from home part-time once the baby is born. We are still in need of a filing cabinet (I'm checking out KSL and Craigslist this week) and shelves, and Nate is going to repaint one of the walls since some of the paint and sheet rock came off when I took down my big inspiration board. Oopsie, guess I shouldn't have pulled so hard! Pictures of the completed office overhaul soon to come.

We started birth classes yesterday and the first class went great. Lots of good info, got to watch an awesome birth on video (I always cry!), and learned some new exercises. Squats anyone? The class is Bradley Method/Brio Birth and there are about 7 other couples in with us. I am looking forward to the next 11 weeks!

So I put together a little compilation of some belly bump pics...it is an incredible feeling to have a little human growing inside of you! This past few weeks have been wonderful because Nate and I have been able to feel her moving around so much. (and she has a special bond with Charlie because he loves to sit on my belly and purr!)

Here is the latest picture of the bambino....
not the best shot but can you see her little button nose?

I can't wait until the day when she realizes how cool her parents are:

Bookworm

Here is what we have so far....any recommendations?
Was there a book you absolutely loved?
One that had great tips/advice on pregnancy, newborns, or parenting in general?
Please let me know!
(PS: Holly - I have really enjoyed your suggestions :)

Sidenote: A friend let me borrow the book above titled, "The Diaper Free Baby." I just started it and I am totally intrigued! The premise is that, "Like other mammals, human babies are born with the instinct not to soil themselves. It is not a natural or pleasant feeling for them to sit in their own waste; they are born aware of the sensation of going to the bathroom." The book is supposed to teach you how to read the signs from your newborn that he/she has to go (this is called Elimination Communication, EC), and with this technique most children become toilet independent at a very early age. She points out that EC is not a new phenomenon but is practiced is many countries. Many countries think we are odd for relying on diapers so much, and for so long. Anyway, I am curious to know how it works at night, how parents deal with what I imagine to be frequent messes, what do you do when you are out shopping, etc. Has anyone heard of this Diaper Free Movement?

OCTOBER

Here is a little recap of our October activities:

Nate went on a trip to Lake Powell with his brother Bryan and their cousins...

We spent a few weeks nannying....

We sold Marigold.
(she needed a new head gasket, among other repairs,
and I had a tear in my eye when we handed over the keys!)
This Mayan gold beauty was the getaway car at our wedding, we drove it to Denver dozens of times, then ventured across the United States to Philadelphia and back, and she was so easily spotted in the grocery store parking lot. Marigold (lovingly named by Ashley), we will miss you!

We watched this over and over again:

Which was inspired by this:

and hung out at the Tews for Halloween...

Plus we both worked a lot and watched a lot of Food Network.
(which is why the blog has been so lonely:)
(ps i heart food network a lot!)
