Over the freeway and past Lagoon...

...to grandmother's house we go!

Last week Mabel and I spent a few night in Kaysville with Nate's parents.  It was fun to have a little getaway and enjoy some time with them.  Grandpa Rick cooked us tasty breakfasts each morning, Mabel played with all Grandma Georgia's preschool toys, and I got to shower and get ready ALONE each day.

On Wednesday my sister-in-law Lindsey came over with her little girl Myah.
Myah is only two month younger than Mabel and these two are pretty cute together.

Two Little Bunny Foo Foos

All we wanted was a picture of Mabel and Myah together and SMILING.
Is that to much to ask?
Apparently so!

Would you smile on a toy?

Does sailing in a boat bring you joy?

Would being in a bin make you grin?

Finally, sitting on the couch for the WIN!

It only took about 50 photos to get that couch shot.
And they both aren't even looking at me.
And Mabel kind of looks loopy.

A few of my favorite outtakes:

Myah hamming it up!

"Don't you have enough pictures of us already?"

Kiss for a cousin:

Trying to Escape

 Done.

So done.

I told Mabel to hug Myah right as
Myah went crawling away.

 ...

Mabel loves to point at the faces while you say the names.

Nate came over for dinner one night after work.
He was in charge of the bbq and had to wear a head lamp
since it gets dark so early!
I thought it was pretty sexy.

Mabel got to help Grandpa make some carrot apple juice.
It was really tasty.

The girls.

 Swinging with Grandma Georgia.

This girl was in slide heaven.
I counted SIX slides total.
(I got pictures of 5)

Mabel was pretty confident jumping on this little trampoline.
Just her size.

She like to sit on this window sill...

 just like her daddy.

 Dessert

and a bath in the fun green tub!

Can't wait to plan our next sleepover!

SNOW DAY!

:snow:

This morning we woke up to some serious SNOWy weather!
Mabel was glued to the sliding glass door.

After I got her dressed I found her in the kitchen
reaching her hand through the cat door to get snow.

So of course we had to bundle up
and head outside to play!

Woah.

She liked trying to catch snowflakes on her tongue!

Winter Wonderland

How I love that little face.

Snow Angel
(I laid her in the snow and kept moving her arms and legs...
she thought it was pretty funny)

Putting the finishing touches on Mr. Snowman

Kisses, of course!

Halloween Festivities Part 4

(Last post about Halloween - I promise!)

  Painting her pumpkin.

Tragedy strikes: Paint got on her leg.

Still upset about it even though I wiped it off.

 Waiting for her cleanliness approval...

 ...and we're good.

We carved the top off of Nate's pumpkin
and found a sprouted seed!

Strange eh?
We ended up finding 7 more in the pumpkin.

I have no idea what design Nate was attempting on his pumpkin...I just
know he didn't intend on the whole circle he was cutting falling out!
I had to laugh. Sorry babe!

My pumpkin cat.

Mabel's pumpkins.

~Trick or Treat~

First treat of the night with Aunt Kristy!

Trick or Treat Lucas!

Mabel's friend Owen was a monkey and she thought
his costume was pretty cool.
She kept making monkey sounds - it was so cute!

One last door!

Yay! Candy from Daddy.

Mabel had so much fun trick or treating.  I guess most kids do.  I loved watching the expressions on her face and seeing her take it all in.  She was intrigued by all the costumes, the strangeness of knocking on a door and someone giving you candy, and all the pumpkins everywhere. She LOVES pumpkins.

After we got home she was in charge of passing our candy out.  She would get so excited every time someone knocked on the door! We would open it up and she would actually give the kids a candy.  Then we would close the door sit for a few seconds before someone would knock again.  She absolutely loved it.  For days she has been pretending to knock on things, then she points to our front door, and tries to say trick or treat. That event will live on in her memory for a long time!

Halloween Festivities Part 3

Last week the Tew family met for dinner at Bryan
and Jenna's new house in Highland.
Their house is beautiful and Mabel was ready to move in when she saw the swings AND slide in their yard.  We could barely get that girl in the house!

The Gang
(inlcluding the white cat that totally photobombed our picture)
(we missed The Calders who couldn't make it
and Nate's brother Brady and family)

Nate's sister Kristy made this darling cupcakes.

We got to Skype with Brady and Becky who moved to
Alaska several months ago.
We sure do miss them and their kids!
While Becky was giving us a virtual tour of their house she
spotted a moose out their kitchen window!
We got glimpses of it eating and hanging out in their backyard!
Oh Alaska, always showing off. :)

Mabel was obsessed with this stuffed animal cat and she also loved looking at Aunt Jenna's doves.
She was a little confused because their cooing sounds like an owl, an animal sound that she just learned, but they don't look like owls.  I could see her little face trying to figure it out.
She would just hooooooo at them anyway.

Rick and Georgia brought a Halloween Pinata for the kids.

Cutest cat up to bat or what?!

Having a snack with Great Grandma and Grandpa Tew.

Winding down with a sippy and Aunt Kristy.
